Terms of Use
These Terms of Use apply to FamilyPhD websites, apps, accounts, Premium features, family workspaces, tools, research experiences, FamilyPhD Studio, and related services.
Who FamilyPhD is for
FamilyPhD user accounts are for adults age 18 or older.
A minor may not create or independently use a FamilyPhD user account.
Adults may create family-member profiles for children or other family members. Those profiles do not receive independent sign-in credentials and are not separate FamilyPhD users.
FamilyPhD may later offer limited parent-controlled experiences for minors, such as viewing assigned family tools, schedules, or responsibilities. Those experiences do not give minors independent access to the FamilyPhD AI experience.
Educational purpose
FamilyPhD provides research-informed educational guidance for family life.
FamilyPhD does not provide medical, legal, mental-health, diagnostic, financial, emergency, or other licensed professional services and does not replace qualified professional care.
Some questions may require professional or emergency assistance. FamilyPhD may identify safety concerns and encourage you to seek appropriate help, but you remain responsible for deciding when to contact professionals or emergency services.
AI-generated guidance
FamilyPhD uses artificial intelligence to help retrieve, organize, explain, and apply information.
AI-generated answers may contain errors, omissions, or uncertainty.
FamilyPhD is designed to ground research-related claims in the FamilyPhD research library where appropriate and to distinguish between evidence-backed information, practical guidance, and areas where evidence is limited.
You should use FamilyPhD as a decision-support and educational tool, not as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions.
Research and evidence
FamilyPhD includes research works, summaries, citations, expert information, and other evidence-related content.
Research findings may be incomplete, contested, outdated, context-specific, or not directly applicable to every family.
FamilyPhD may summarize or explain research in plain language. Those summaries are not substitutes for reading the original work or consulting a qualified professional where appropriate.
Premium and personalization
FamilyPhD Premium is designed to provide more personalized and ongoing support.
Premium may use information you choose to provide, such as:
- family-member profiles
- ages and relationships
- notes and preferences
- goals and routines
- plans
- Moments and experiences
- developmental or life-stage context
- prior FamilyPhD interactions
- other workspace information
FamilyPhD may use relevant stored context to make future answers more useful.
You should be able to review, correct, or remove important profile information.
FamilyPhD does not treat inferred or unconfirmed information as equivalent to information you have explicitly confirmed.
Compounding Family Intelligence Model™
FamilyPhD may use the Compounding Family Intelligence Model™ (CFIM™) to carry relevant family context across interactions over time.
CFIM™ is intended to improve relevance, continuity, and personalization.
CFIM™ does not increase the strength of the underlying research evidence and does not make an uncertain conclusion certain.
Family profiles and shared family context
The primary account holder controls the family workspace and the family-member profiles created within it.
Family-member profiles are informational records, not independent accounts.
If FamilyPhD later supports additional adult seats, each adult user may have their own credentials, permissions, and perspective within the shared family workspace.
FamilyPhD may preserve who contributed particular information where provenance matters.
Plans, Moments, and family tools
FamilyPhD may offer tools such as plans, goals, reminders, routines, family organization tools, Moments, reflection, tracking, and other family-management features.
These tools are optional and are intended to support family decision-making and organization.
They do not guarantee outcomes.
You remain responsible for decisions, actions, supervision, and implementation within your family.
Voice features
Some Premium features may allow voice input.
Voice may be used to ask questions, update family context, interact with plans, or use other FamilyPhD features.
Voice features may involve transcription and AI processing.
FamilyPhD may limit voice features by plan, platform, geography, or usage allowance.
FamilyPhD Studio
FamilyPhD Studio is a creation environment intended to let parents, experts, creators, educators, institutions, developers, and other approved users create tools, experiences, content, or integrations for the FamilyPhD ecosystem.
Studio features may be experimental or limited during early access.
Content created through Studio may be subject to additional publishing, safety, attribution, moderation, licensing, or review requirements before it becomes available to other users.
Use of Studio does not automatically guarantee publication or distribution.
Experts and creators
FamilyPhD may include expert profiles, creator pages, research attribution, contributed content, and other third-party participation.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, FamilyPhD does not guarantee endorsement, availability, accuracy, or professional suitability of any individual expert, creator, or third-party contributor.
Expert-authored, expert-reviewed, AI-assisted, and AI-summarized content may be labeled differently.
Mobile applications
FamilyPhD may be available through mobile applications.
Availability and functionality may differ by device, operating system, app-store policy, geography, or plan.
Some paid features may require purchase or account management through FamilyPhD’s website rather than through an app store.
Free and paid services
FamilyPhD may provide both free and paid services.
The core research and Ask experience may remain available without Premium, while personalization, family context, voice, tools, and other features may require a paid plan.
FamilyPhD may change pricing, included features, usage limits, or plan structure in the future.
Material pricing or subscription changes will be disclosed before they apply to future charges.
Trials and early access
FamilyPhD may offer trials, previews, beta features, or early-access workspaces.
Early-access features may change, be incomplete, or be removed.
FamilyPhD may limit availability, usage, or enrollment during testing.
A trial does not guarantee that a feature will become generally available.
Payments and subscriptions
When paid subscriptions become available, FamilyPhD may charge recurring subscription fees.
Before charging you, FamilyPhD will disclose:
- the price
- billing frequency
- renewal terms
- cancellation terms
- any applicable trial terms
FamilyPhD will not charge a payment method unless you have provided or authorized one.
Additional adult seats or other paid add-ons may have separate pricing.
Usage limits
FamilyPhD may apply reasonable usage limits to protect service quality, control costs, prevent abuse, or differentiate plans.
Usage limits may vary by feature, plan, or model/provider.
FamilyPhD may offer additional usage for purchase where available.
Grocery store search and Google Maps
When available, Grocery store search uses Google Maps Platform. By using this feature, you are bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, which are incorporated into these Terms.
Store listings do not confirm opening hours, product availability, stock, aisle locations, coupons, or ordering support. Saving a store does not connect a retailer account or place an order. Confirm the branch before shopping.
See Grocery location and store-search privacy for information sent to Google and how saved preferences are kept.
Privacy and family information
FamilyPhD may process personal and family information that you choose to provide.
You are responsible for having appropriate authority to provide information about family members.
FamilyPhD will describe its data practices in its Privacy Policy.
Do not submit information you are not authorized to share.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account.
You should notify FamilyPhD if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not share credentials in a way that circumvents seat limits, plan limits, or access controls.
Acceptable use
You may not use FamilyPhD to:
- violate the law
- harm or exploit another person
- impersonate another person
- interfere with service operation
- attempt unauthorized access
- scrape or extract protected content at scale
- bypass usage limits or security controls
- misuse Studio or FamilyPhD tools to distribute harmful or deceptive content
FamilyPhD may suspend or restrict access where necessary to protect users, systems, or legal obligations.
Intellectual property
FamilyPhD software, branding, product design, and proprietary platform content are owned by FamilyPhD or its licensors.
Third-party research, expert work, creator content, and other materials may remain owned by their respective rights holders.
Using FamilyPhD does not transfer ownership of underlying intellectual property.
Separate terms may apply to Studio-created content, expert contributions, creator content, or licensed materials.
Service availability
FamilyPhD depends on cloud infrastructure, AI providers, search providers, networks, and other third-party services.
The service may occasionally be unavailable, delayed, degraded, or interrupted.
FamilyPhD may retry requests, temporarily limit service, or provide an unavailable state when a provider cannot return a reliable answer.
FamilyPhD does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Changes to the service
FamilyPhD may add, remove, modify, or discontinue features.
FamilyPhD may also change AI providers, models, research systems, tools, or underlying infrastructure.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves.
Limitation of reliance
You are responsible for evaluating whether FamilyPhD guidance is appropriate for your circumstances.
Where the consequences of an error could be serious, you should verify information and seek qualified professional advice.
